Good Morning! 2024
Do Not Disturb my phone is set
I wake up disturbed with the sunset.
A horn a honk a woman saying good night!
Good morning I open my phone texts reading
The day obituary “Miss you wish you
You were with us today.” It’s funny it’s not funny
My labor is in my head. I eat a young peach for breakfast
While (3) missed mommy calls go left unread.
What do you want? Like an endless alarm that question.
Families, burning trees, baby rockers, burnt bunnies,
Layoffs, Lipstick, Hetero-Happiness in a fumigated aquarium.
A son, a daughter, a Dad that smiles
A fat paycheck or better yet a fat smile
That greases the sky and boils the day longer.
Sleep schedule to ponder or party
In the last glimpse of the Sun setting
Eyes open with owls, nesting like mice. It’s over
For the neighbors, my coffee just started. Work back
Figure it out. 8:50 pm coffee for jobless daughter
Pregnant with the shame of night.
